Job Posting for Executive Director of MCAS (Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan)
The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive officer of MCAS and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership. The ED will drive the mission, oversee programs, manage staff, and act as the primary spokesperson for the association. This role requires a visionary leader with strong relationship-building skills to engage with members, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the board of directors. The ED ensures the organization's sustainable growth and relevance within the trade sector while enhancing the value and services offered to its members.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement the organization's strategic vision in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Lead the development of short- and long-term goals that align with the association’s mission and objectives.
- Identify emerging industry trends and regulatory challenges and guide the organization in addressing them proactively.
Governance & Board Relations:
- Serve as the liaison between the Board of Directors and staff, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
- Assist the board in governance best practices and policy formulation.
- Regularly report on organizational performance, industry developments, and financial health to the board.
Program & Service Management:
- Oversee the design, delivery, and quality of association programs, events, and services.
- Ensure that all programs are aligned with the organization’s mission and meet the evolving needs of members.
- Lead the development and execution of annual conferences, training, certifications, and educational offerings.
Financial Oversight & Fundraising:
- Manage the organization’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and adherence to approved financial plans.
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, audits, and risk management.
Advocacy & External Relations:
- Act as the public face of the association, representing the organization in public forums, media appearances, and industry events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and policymakers.
- Advocate for policies and regulations that benefit the trade sector and align with the association’s mission.
Membership Growth & Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies for member recruitment, retention, and engagement.
- Ensure member needs are met and continuously evolve member benefits to increase value.
- Foster a strong sense of community within the association and maintain an active dialogue with members.
Staff Management & Development:
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development within the team.
- Ensure organizational structure and staffing align with strategic objectives.
