HYDRONICS - SASKATOON

Date: June 1st & 2nd, 2022

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Instructor: Jerry Boulanger

Venue: SaskEnergy / MCAS Training Centre

Day 1 will provide attendees with a good understanding of how all the pieces in hydronics systems function and interact, lay out components in the correct order for proper operation and diagnose problems in existing systems.

Day 2 will focus on Hydronic System design with students defining requirements, piping layout, selecting equipment, pipe / pump sizing, operating temperatures and control strategies.
The group will design a system from scratch while using an Excel program designed to do routine calcultions for hydronic design / analysis.

Instruction will also cover:

•Primary-secondary piping, pumping and control – includinghow to analyze temperature relationships.

•Boiler controls – including code requirements for safety.

•Variable-speed pumping – how it works and how to control.

•Hydronic troubleshooting techniques – analyze operationalproblems in hydronic systems and the tools required.

•Basic electrical troubleshooting – using a multimeterand/or test light to troubleshoot low voltage control circuits.
