Peer to Peer

Sometimes we need advice, and we don’t know where to find it. While MCAS staff are available to the membership, often a contractor simply needs to talk to another contractor. There is a wealth of knowledge available within our membership, but it needs to be accessible.

The solution: MCAS Peer to Peer Program.
The concept is simple: Provide a platform for members to seek the advice of other members.
Connecting is easy: Review the profiles of the available peers and reach out either via phone or email.
Confidential: All conversations are kept confidential.

My sense of purpose is a competitive advantage that benefits my customers and community. Few women work in the mechanical industry, but it is a solid fit for my interests and abilities. With Finance and English degrees from the U of S and starting a Masters of Sustainability, my current employment aligns with my interest in sustainability, which focuses on meeting the needs of people today without compromising what future generations will require. For the past several years as a managing partner, I have worked towards excellent customer service and maintaining a positive and safe workplace.

I align myself with organizations that allow me to develop as I contribute, including the Rotary Club of Saskatoon, TEC Canada, Kiva, and Leadership Saskatoon. I encourage others to develop themselves and their communities, providing them opportunities and resources. I am inspired by other women who recognize and pursue improvements in their industries and communities and I applied what I learned from their examples to my own life.

Luc Kadziolka – Mr. Plumber

Title: President
Background:  Journeyman Plumber with a commercial gas ticket (General Gas Ticket) 35 plus years in the industry, currently running a crew between 8 - 12 employees completing some small to mid size commercial projects while still doing service work.

Thinking back about the years past, I realize that I have had access to  Key Leaders I could reach out to who were more than willing to help when I needed guidance, some for the trade side, some for the business side and even some over some legal issues that as anyone in business knows do arise. It is because of these Key leaders that I was able to continue and grow.

Now with the new MCAS Peer to Peer program I am more eager to pay it forward and with the experience that I have accumulated over the years working those demanding general contractors, the know-it-all customers and dealing with the corporate clients that will demand all of your attention but not necessarily willing to pay you for all of your time, I figure that I’m in a position to help fellow members of our association and maybe save them some of the grief or losses that so many of us have taken.

Please reach out to me and I will be more than willing to help you and if i cannot, I may know of someone who could.

Why not Volunteer?

Let’s face it you probably have already had experience giving advice to a fellow contractor. A conversation on the golf course or over a drink at our curling bonspiel. We want to provide additional opportunities for our members to connect.

As a member of the peer to peer network you provide:

ADVICE
Your experience can provide answers to questions and suggestions that can make a big difference when it comes to navigating the construction industry.

PERSPECTIVE
Because of your experience you can provide context and perspectives that were not previously considered.

NETWORKING
You have valuable connections in the province. Networking is vital for success in the construction industry in Saskatchewan.
